Monnie died May 9, 2013 in Morehead, Rowan Co., KY. OBIT: Colleen Horton Hill, age 86, of Sandy Hook, Ky., passed away Thursday morning, May 09, 2013, at St. Claire Regional Medical Center in Morehead, Kentucky.
She was born March 14, 1927 in Elliott County, Ky., a daughter of the late Russell and Winnis Mays Horton.
She was a homemaker.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by one son, George R. Hill, and one brother, William Dennis Horton. Her double first cousin and best friend whom she lived with for almost 35 years, Gladys Horton Pennington.
Monnie is survived by two sons and daughters inlaw, Danny L. and Libby Hill of Apollo Beach, Fla., and Charles R. "Chuck" and Peanut Hill of Sandy Hook, Ky., one sister, Maxine Pennington of Morehead, Ky., seven grandchildren, and fourteen great-grandchildren, also surviving are her extended family, Naomi and Harold Davis, Janice and Darryl Dennis, Mary Conn, Charles and Jeannie Pennington, Linda Pennington, Elaine and Darrell Fannin, Diane and Phil Hardin, Randy and Teresa Pennington, Claudette and Terry Green, Theresa and John Wolfenbarger, very special caregiver for almost 5 years, Drema Crum and Fonda and Ronald Weddington. Colleen was very special to the Pennington's and their families and loved by each and very one. Her family would like to thank them for taking care of her and being so special.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m Saturday, May 11, 2013, at Waddell & Whitt Funeral Home in Sandy Hook with Bro.John Horton and Bro.Bruce Davis officiating. Burial will follow in the Pennington Cemetery on Ruin.
