"Rick" Lawrence III, 47, of Coal Valley, died Monday, at University Hospitals, Iowa City, as a result of burns he received on Sunday in a tragic accident while burning brush at his family home in Coal Valley.
Rick was born April 4, 1952, in Rock Island, the son of Margret (Ogle) and Albert R. Lawrence Jr. He graduated from Moline High School in 1972 and married Kathlene DePron on April 27, 1991, in Coal Valley. He worked with his family in A.R. Lawrence and Sons Masonry all of his working life.
He was a member of Fifteenth Avenue Christian Church, Rock Island, and Laborers Local 309, Rock Island. He enjoyed the outdoors, cutting wood and horseback riding.
Rick is survived by his wife; his mother, Margret Lawrence, Coal Valley; a stepson; two sisters; and two brothers. He was preceded in death by his father on Aug. 16, 1999. 48634 iii. Jeffrey Thoamas Lawrence was born in Moline, Rock Island Co., IL December 29,1954. Jeffrey died August 1, 2007 in Moline, Rock Island Co., IL. OBIT: Jeffrey T. Lawrence, 52, of Moline, died Wednesday, Aug. 1, 2007, at his home surrounded by his family after a short illness.
Services are 10 a.m. Tuesday in the Celebration of Life Chapel at Trimble Funeral and Cremation Center, Coal Valley, with the Rev. Donald Levitt, Christ the King Catholic Church, officiating. Burial is in National Cemetery, Arsenal Island, where Moline American Legion Post No. 246 will present military honors. Visitation is 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Trinity Pathway Hospice.
Jeffrey Thomas Lawrence was born Dec. 29, 1954, in Moline, the son of Albert Richard Lawrence Jr. and Margret Ogle Lawrence.
He earned a degree in computer science, and served with military police in the U.S. Army.
Jeff married Sandy Alderson Baldwin on Oct. 21, 2004, in Moline.
Jeff was the owner of A. R. Lawrence and Sons Masonry, taking over the business on his father's death in 1999.
He loved fishing, hunting, cooking and grilling, and enjoyed hanging out with his many friends.
Jeff is survived by his wife, Sandy; two stepdaughters, Nicole Baldwin, Bettendorf, and Melissa Saucedo and her husband, Giovanni, Moline; two grandchildren, Blake and Kiersten Baldwin; his mother, Margret Lawrence, Coal Valley; siblings and their spouses, Colette and John Kissling, Coal Valley, Kent and Kimber Lawrence, Lake Moor, Ill., and Beth Ann Lawrence, Coal Valley; nieces and nephews, Michael and Torri Lawrence, Andrew Kissling, and Elizabeth Adams; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father and brother, Albert R. "Rick" Lawrence III. 48635 iv. Kent M. Lawrence (living).
