OBIT: MAURICE "CLIFF" CLOWERS Maurice "Cliff" Clowers Age 66 died January 28, 2007 at his Residence in Columbus, MS Memorial services will be held at Memorial Funeral Home on Thursday, February 1, 2007 at 2:00 PM Visitation will be at Memorial Funeral Home on Thursday, February 1, 2007 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM Mr. Clowers was born in Pontotoc County Mississippi to the late Webb and Ella Inez Smitherman Clowers. He was a retired Tech Sargent in the U.S. Air Force and a Cold War and Viet Nam Veteran. After his retirement he work for 23 years at Columbus Air Force Base as a Flight Simulator Operator. He was an avid motorcyclist and a member of the GWRRA an Mingos. Survivors include: Wife-Carolyne H. Clowers of Columbus, Miss. Daughter-Barbara Jarrett of Columbus, Miss. He married Carolyn Ann Harrell. Carolyn was born September 1, 1940 in Vicksburg, Warren Co, MS. Carolyn was the daughter of Hulon Monroe Harrell and Idalie C. Shultz. Carolyn died February 7, 2011 in Columbus, Lowndes co., MS. OBIT: Carolyne Ann Harrell Clowers, age 70, of Columbus, MS, passed away February 7, 2011, at Baptist Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be Thursday, February 10, 2011, at 2;00 PM at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jimmy Banks officiating. The interment will immediately follow at Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday, February 9, 2011, from 6:00-8:00 PM at Memorial Funeral Home. Mrs. Clowers was born September 17, 1940, in Vicksburg, MS, to the late Hulon Monroe and Idalie C. Shultz Harrell. She retired from Columbus Paper & Chemical after 22 years and was a member of the Lighthouse Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Clowers was preceded in death by her husband, Maurice Clowers. Survivors include her sons, David Clowers and his wife Pat of Columbus, MS, and Ronald Clowers of Columbus, MS, daughter, Barbara Jarrett of Columbus, MS, brothers, James Harrell of Vicksburg, MS, and Robert Harrell of West Memphis, AR, her sister Marilyn Gray of Vicksburg, MS and grandchildren, Angela Hanley of Chattanooga, TN, and Josh Williams of Denver, CO. Pallbearers will be members of the Gold Wing Riders Association. Memorials may be made to the Tupelo Children's Mansion, P.O. Box 167, Tupelo, MS, 38802.
