Born in Olney, IL, on September 4, 1947, he was the son of Charles H. Worstell, JR and Mary Lee Kellams Worstell. He married Debbie Moody Worstell on June 28, 1969, and she survives. He was a member of National Guard; a welder and pipefitter for Local 136, of which he was a member out of Evansville, IN; and a member of the American Legion Post 28 and the Moose.
Survivors include his wife of rural Lawrenceville; two sons, Heath Worstell and wife Dana of Cody, WY and Bron Worstell of Lawrenceville; two sisters, Sandra Rowland and husband Pat of Tucson, AZ and Beverly Sue Hetland and husband Ace of College Station, TX; one grandchild, Kylar Worstell and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Monday, December 13, 2004, at Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Lawrenceville, IL. Burial was in the Cresthaven Memorial Park Cemetery in Claremont, IL
William J. Worstell and Debbie Moody had the following children:
