James died February 29, 2013 in Lawrenceville, Lawrence Co., IL. OBIT: James T. Worstell, age 85 of Sumner, IL, passed away Wednesday, February 29, 2012 at Lawrence County Memorial Hospital in Lawrenceville, IL. He was born March 11, 1926 in Olney, IL, the son of Charles H. and Agnes (Phillips) Worstell. He married his first wife, Betty Jean (Rogers) Worstell, June 9, 1946 and she passed away November 2, 1969. His second wife, Patricia Jean (Trammel) Provines Worstell, passed away November 13, 1992. His parents also preceded him in death.

Jim worked for the Illinois State Highway Department for 25 years until retirement. Prior to that, he owned and operated a restaurant and donut shop in Lawrenceville. He was a member of the Sumner Congregational Christian Church where he served as a Deacon. He also served as precinct committee member for the Democratic Party.

Survivors include one son Tim Worstell of Sumner; a stepdaughter Jan Cummins (Mike) of Sumner; a brother-in-law Jerry Wright of rural Lawrenceville; two grandchildren Ryan and Cody Worstell; two step-grandchildren Doug and Brian Cummins; several great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services at Cresthaven Memorial Park Cemetery in Claremont, IL. There will be no visitation.

He married twice. He married Patricia Jean Trammel. Patricia died November 13,1992. He married Betty Jean Rogers June 9,1946. Betty was born August 19,1 928 in Lawrence Co., IL. Betty was the daughter of Gilbert Rogers and Leona Pearl (__). Betty died Novembe 2,1969 in Vincennes, Knox Co., IN.

James T. Worstell and Betty Jean Rogers had the following child:
