Joseph Levi was buried in the Wood Cemetery, Winston County, MS His body was interred at in Wood Cemetery, Winston County, Mississippi.
He married twice. He married Nancy Ann Swann December 13, 1880 Winston Co., MS. Nancy was born August 15,1854 in Winston Co., MS. Nancy was the daughter of Samuel Swann and Lousia (___). Nancy died September 26, 1939 in Swartz, Ouachita Parish, LA. Obit: Mrs. Nancy Ann Allgood, 85, died yesterday afternoon at 1 o'clock at her home in Swartz. Mrs. Allgood is survived by one son, James Henry Allgood, and two daughters, Mrs. Tom Cranford and Mrs Dora Sherriel, all of Swartz; and two sisters, Mrs Mary Hamilton of Bogue Chitto, Miss., and Mrs. Matt Thrasher of Philadelphia, Miss. Funeral services will be held this afternoon at 3:30 o'clock at the Swartz Baptist Church,. Interment will follow in Springhill cemetery at Swartz. Pallbearers will be Ben Brooks, Bill Stones, Columbus Richie, Sam Hixon, Bill Wulchet and Allen Wright. In 1880 Nancy was living with the Vinson Todd Family in Plattsburg, MS and was reported as going to school. On this census her mother was shown as born in Ga and her father in FL. In the 1870 census she was living with her parents in Newton Co., MS. Its said by family members in LA that she was of Indian Heritage.
He married Mary Octava Gibbs November 22, 1892 in Marlin, Falls Co. TX. A marriage certificat, not indicated as registered wtih the responsible county department showed this date, although Mary was apparently only 9 years old at the time. Its validity cannot be verified.
Mary was born February 25, 1883 in Neshoba Co., MS. Mary was the daughter of Thomas George Gibbs and Martha Byrd. Mary died November 4, 1918 in Franklin, Robertson Co, TX. Her body was interred at in Wheelock, Robertson Co, TX. Joseph Levi Allgood, son of Levi and Josephine Catherine Barnett Allgood, was born February 25, 1863 in Winston County, Mississippi. He first marrie N. A. Swain in 1880. He was known as Joe to his family in Mississippi, but around 1890 he, with his brother John G. Algood, went to Marlin, Falls County, Texas where he became known as Levi. While in Texas, he also was known to have lived in Groesbeck, Limestone County, and Franklin, Robertson County. Old stories handed down have it that in 1892, Levi won his second wife in a card game. Her name was Mary Octava Gibbs and was nine years old. She had come from Mississippi in an oxen wagon with her father, Thomas George Gibbs and sisters Sallie, Vera Mae, and Audie. To this union was born eight children. 1. Thomas Robertson Levi, b. Oct 2, 1903 who was thrown by his horse and killed March 31, 1918 returning from an Easter outing. 2. Henry, b. Feb 10, 1905. 3. Inez, b. July 17, 1907, d. Nov 4, 1918. 4. Rachel, b. Feb 21, 1909. 5. Clyde, b. Sep 8, 1911. 6. Alvin, b. Jul 24, 1913. 7. Joseph, b. Aug 7, 1916. Mrs. Allgood died giving birth to the last child Mary, b. Nov 4, 1918. Mary Octava's sister Audie took the baby to raise until she was six months old. In 1928, Levi returned to Mississippi because his mother was very sick. His son Henry had already gone to Mississippi to live with relatives earlier and he brought the rest of his children except Rachel, who married Ona Lee Gibson and remained in Texas. Joseph Levi Allgood died of cancer Aug 25, 1930 in Ethel, Winston County, Mississippi.

Annie Belle Allgood, Alvin's wife indicated that Clyde and Maye had no children, and after Clyde's death she later remarried.
