Tommie died January 26, 2001 in Memphis, Shelbly Co., TN. OBIT: TOMMIE M. ALLGOOD, 89, of Memphis, retired millwright for International Harvester, died of heart failure Friday at St. Peter Villa Rehab & Nursing Center. Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Memorial Park Funeral Home with burial in Memphis Memory Gardens. He was a member of Berclair Church of Christ. Mr. Allgood, the husband of Rozella Bright Allgood for 65 years, also leaves a daughter, Shirley Britton of Memphis; a son, Tommie M. Allgood Jr. of Kennett, Mo.; a sister, Vera Quick of Mississippi; a brother, Dewitt Allgood of Ripley, Tenn., and a grandson.
He married Rozella Bright in Mason, Tipton Co., TN. Rozella was born June 7, 1917 in Mason, Tipton Co., TN. Rozella was the daughter of John T. Bright and Addie Whitehorn. Rozella died July 2, 2009 in Memphis, Shelbly Co., TN. OBIT: Rozella Allgood, 92, of Memphis died Thursday, July 2, 2009, at St. Francis Hospital. She was born June 7, 1917 in Mason, TN. She was a long time member of Union Avenue Church of Christ and Berclair Church of Christ in Memphis, TN. and enjoyed a career in real estate in the Memphis area. She was preceded in death by her husband, Tommie Allgood; daughter, Louise Allgood Baker; and son-in-law Herschel Baker. Survivors include daughter, Shirley Allgood Britton, of Memphis; son and daughter-in-law, Tommy and Meryl Allgood, of Kennett, MO; one grandchild, Chris Baker and wife Mindy, of Bartlett, TN; and great-grandchild, Sophie Louise Baker, of Bartlett, TN. A celebration of her life will be held on Monday, July 6, 2009 at 11:30 a.m. at Memorial Park Funeral Home with the visitation from 10:30-11:30 a.m. Burial will be in Memphis Memory Gardens.
