7220. Ethel Lucille⁸ Ankeney (John Henry⁷, Martha (Mattie) Iowa⁶ Allgood, John Frederick⁵, John Hesser⁴, Edward³, William² Algood, Edward¹ Allgood) was born in Mahaska Co., IA July 24, 1913. Ethel died December 10, 2005 in Burlington, IA. Obit: Ethel Piper, 92, of Danville Care Center, formerly of New London, died Saturday, Dec. 10, 2005, at Great River Medical Center in West Burlington.

Born July 24, 1913, in Oskaloosa, she was the daughter of John H. and Lillian L. McFall Ankeney. On June 23, 1935, she married Dale Piper in Oskaloosa. He died Aug. 3, 1993.

Mrs. Piper was a homemaker. She also worked for J.I. Case in Burlington from 1960 to 1975.

She was a 1930 graduate of Cedar High School and a 1932 graduate of Jackson University Business College in Chillicothe, Mo. She was a member of New London United Methodist Church, Wesleyan Guild, Birthday Club, Mother's Club and Chapter H of TTT. She loved to read, enjoyed cooking and vacationing at a lake in Minnesota in the summer. She also enjoyed going to Branson, Mo.

Survivors include one daughter, Sherry Piper of Chandler, Ariz.; one son, Jim Piper of Las Vegas; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, one sister and two brothers.

Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Friday at Elliott Chapel in New London, where the family will receive friends one hour prior to the time of service.

The funeral for Mrs. Piper will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Elliott Chapel, with the Rev. Matt Miller officiating. Burial will be in Trinity Cemetery in Mount Union.

A memorial has been established for New London United Methodist Church.

She married Dale W. Piper June 23, 1935 in Oskaloosa, Mahaska Co., IA. Dale was born September 22,1914 in Keokuk, Warren Co., IA. Dale was the son of Henry Piiper and Laura M. (___). Dale died August 3, 1993 in New London, IA.

Ethel Lucille Ankeney and Dale W. Piper had the following children:
