She married Aaron Smith Decembser 25, 1859 in Richland Co., IL. Aaron was born abt 1840 in Richland Co., OH. Aaron was the son of Joseph Smith and Mary Fryman. Aaron died 1913. Aaron was buried in the Hill Cemetery, Dallas Co. MO

+ 3772 v. John Wesley Smith was born August 13, 1871.

+ 3773 vi. William Henry Augustus Smith was born May 25, 1878.

3774 vii. Julia Ellen Smith was born in Dallas Co., MO February 2, 1883. Julia died March 6, 1930 in Dallas Co., MO. Obit: Mrs. Julia Ellen Strickland was born in Dallas County, Mo., February 2, 1883 and died at her home near Buffalo, March 6, 1930, age 47 years, 1 month and four days.

She was the youngest daughter of Aaron and Betsy Ann Smith and one of a family of seven children, three of who survive her.

She was married to Henry Strickland, who survives her, Mary 8, 1907.

Practically all of her life was spent in the county and vicinity of her birth. She made many friend and proven herslef a good neighbor and friend, always ready to render aid and assistance to any one in need.

She had been seriously afficted for many months but was patient in her sufferings and considerate of those who administered to her.

She leaves her companion, two sisters, Mrs. Jim Evans and Mrs. Sarah Hill, both of Charity; one brother, Henry Smith of Sarcoxic, Missouri, and many other relatives and friends to mourn her departure.

Funeral services were held at the First Baptist Church of Buffalo, conducted by Rev. J. E. Jackson, Sunday, March 9, and burial was made in Buffalo Cemetery under direction of L. B. Jones.

She married Henry Issac Strickland May 8, 1907 in Dallas Co., MO.

Henry was born September 21, 1886 in Dallas Co., MO. Henry died January 22, 1971 in Dallas Co., MO. Obit: Henry Isaac Strickland, son of Clement E. and Sarah Strickland, was born September 24, 1886 near Buffalo, Missouri. He grew to manhood on the home place.

On May 8, 1907 he nwas married to Julia Smith of Buffalo.

On October 31, 1931 he was married to Edna Hil of Buffalo, Missouri who passed away March 10, 1946.

In 1930 he united with the First Baptist Church of Buffalo and was a member of the IOOF Lodge.

On August 10, 1949 he was united in marriage with Estella Barthalow of Pittsburg, Kansas.

He lived on a farm near Buffalo from 1909 until 1951 when he retired and moved to Buffalo. He was an extensive farmer and stockman. He transferred his church membership to the Methodist Church in 1957 and was a faithful member until his death. He departed this life at the age of 84 years, 4 months and one day.

He is survived b his wife, Estella, of the home; one step-daughter, Mrs. Mildred Moore of Pisttsburg, Kansas; one step-son, George Bartholow, Leawood, Kansas; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Lillie Louderbaugh of Yates Center, Kansas; one brother, Claude A. of Buffalo, several nieces and nephews and a host of friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, mother, two sisters, Mary and Alice and five brothers, Jim, Noah, Ervin, Evan and Robert.

Funeral services were held on Sunday, January 24, 1917 at 3:00 p.m. in the Buffalo United Methodist Church with the Rev. Wayne Jones officiating assisted by Rev. Glen Pence. Music was by Vernon and Jo Ann Viets who sang "Beautiful Isle of Somewhere" and "My Savior First of All," accompanied by the organist, Mrs. Bea Knapp. Escorts were: Glen Engle, John Lounderbaugh, Claude L. Strickland, Donald Strickland, Lawrence Strickland and Paul Strickland. Interment was in Oak Lawn Cemetery under the direction of the Montgomery Funeral Home of Buffalo.
