Lucinda died November 5, 1938 in Dallas Co., MO. Obit: Lucinda Evans, daugher of Aaron Smith, was born in Dallas County, Missouri on May 3, 1968, and died at her home east of Buffalo on November 5, 1938. Practically all the seventy years of her life were spent in Dallas County, Missouri.
She became seriously ill on November 2. Everything was done for 6:00 o'clock on the raforementioned date the Savior claimed her as his own. She was a loving mother, a kind wife, and a good neighbor, not only to her own but to all who knew her. Although she never united with any earthly church, she believed and trusted in the living God.
She was untied in marriage to J. G. Evans on September 20, 1886. To them were born 12 children. Ten of them and the husband survive. They are Tom Evans of Buffalo, wid Evans of Waverly, Mrs. Ike Nelson of Tahlequash, Okla., Bud of Alberta, Canada, Mrs. Julia McGee of Kansas City, Harley of Elkland, Ray and Polk of Overland Park, Kan., Mrs. Allen Franklin of Lebanon, and Glenn of Exeter, Calif.
She also leaves one brother and one sister, 33 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and many other relatives and friends.
Truly the great central sun of this household has gone down, but let us hope that in the golden summer of another life, children, mother and father will gather again in a sweet reunion where partings are unknown.
Rev. V. R. Walker conducted funeral services at the home at 2:00 p.m. Monday. Burial was made in Oak Lawn Cemetery under direction of L. B. Jones.
She married James (Jim) Grant Evans September 20, 1886 in Dallas Co., MO. James was born June 3, 1864 in Twelvemile, Madison Co., MO. James died December 25, 1939 in Dallas Co., MO. James was buried in the Oaklawn Cemetery, Dallas County, Missouri
