OBIT: Delbert Ray Allgood, Sr. Dec. 12, 1928 - Feb. 3, 2012 Delbert Ray Allgood, Sr. passed away Friday afternoon February 3, 2012 at Hospice of Alamance. He was born on December 12, 1928 in Forsyth County to the late Isac Earl and Bertie Shore Allgood. Delbert loved to travel and camp. He is survived by daughter Jennie A. Shaw and husband Harvey; son Delbert R. Allgood, Jr; four grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and brother Thurman Allgood and wife Dot. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday February 6, 2012 at Parklawn Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel with Rev. Gary Elrod officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Parklawn Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel.
He married Anne Sawyer July 8, 1950 in SC. Anne was born November 24, 1930 in Forsyth Co., NC. Anne was the daughter of Robert Sawyer and Evelyn (____). Anne died January 24, 2015 in Forsyth Co., NC. OBIT: Anne Sawyer January 24, 2015 Mrs. Anne Sawyer, age 84, of Lexington, passed away on Saturday, January 24, 2015 at the Oaks of Alamance. Born in Forsyth County, NC, she was the daughter of the late Robert B. Sawyer and the late Evelyn Williams Sawyer. Anne retired from PPG Industries in Lexington after 30 years of service. Mrs. Sawyer is survived by her daughter, Jennie A. Shaw and her husband, Harvey, of Gibsonville; her son, Delbert Ray Allgood, Jr. of China Grove; four grandchildren; five great grandchildren; a sister, Mary Allen of Winston-Salem; and a brother, Buddy Sawyer of Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents and five siblings. A cryptside service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 27, 2015 at Parklawn Memorial Garden Mausoleum Chapel by Rev. Randall Shaw. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the mausoleum chapel.
