Thurman died February 25, 2015 in Winston-Salem, Forsyth Co., NC. OBIT: Thurman Shore Allgood, 82, passed away Wednesday morning at Mallard Ridge Assisted Living. Thurman was born on July 31, 1932 in Forsyth County to the late Isaac Allgood and Bertie Shore Allgood. He was a long time member of Union Ridge United Methodist Church. Thurman enjoyed traveling with his late wife Dorothy, and they traveled to every state, except Alaska and Hawaii. He enjoyed going to the beach, mountains and going dancing at the VFW post. Thurman was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Dorothy Johnson Allgood; and siblings Albert, Delbert and Inez. Thurman is survived by two daughters Brenda Sink and Linda Weaver; grandchildren Todd Sink, Travis Sink, and Josh Weaver; close friend and family member Judy Beshears and niece Elaine Bullin.A funeral service will be held at 2:00p.m. Saturday, February 28, 2015 at Union Ridge United Methodist Church with Rev. Gary Elrod officiating. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Sunday, March 1st, at Parklawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service at Union Ridge United Methodist Church.

He married Dorothy (Dot) Johnson December 24, 1950. Dorothy was born October 4, 1932 in Forsyth Co., NC. Dorothy was the daughter of DeeWitt Johnson and Emma Jarvis. Dorothy died November 19, 2012 in Winston Salem, Forsyth Co., NC. OBIT: Mrs. Dorothy "Dot" Johnson Allgood passed away at her home Monday morning, November 19, 2012. She was born on October 4, 1932 in Forsyth County to the late DeeWitt and Emma Jarvis Johnson. Dot enjoyed being outside working in the yard, going to the beach and visiting all of the nation's lighthouses. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend to all. Dot and her husband Thurman enjoyed traveling all over, and have visited every state except Alaska and Hawaii. She has a huge collection of lighthouses that she gathered from all of her many trips. She was preceded in death by siblings Pauline, John, and Felix. Dot is survived by her loving husband and long time friend of 62 years Thurman Allgood; daughters Brenda Sink and Linda Weaver; grandsons Todd Sink, Travis Sink, and Josh Weaver; brother Gilbert "Jack" Johnson; cousin (who is like a sister) Judy Beshears; and best friends Patty Cameron and Lynn Lampley. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, November 23, 2012 at Union Ridge United Methodist Church with Rev. Gary Elrod officiating. Burial will follow at Parklawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Union Ridge United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Union Ridge United Methodist Church, 3620 Old Lexington Rd., Winston-Salem, NC 27107 or Hospice and Palliative Care, 101 Hospice Ln., Winston-Salem, NC 27103
