He married Jean C Dibowski. Jean was born June 14, 1911. Jean died March 1982 in East Bend, Yadkin Co., NC. Bennie was a U.S. Navy pilot during World War II, with the grade of Lieutenant Commander. He met his first wife, Andrea Hernandez, in Cuba where he was stationed while flying PBY flying boat submarine patrols across the Atlantic to Africa. They had three children but later divorced. Benny died 4 April 1965 and is buried in the Deep Creek Baptist Church cemetery.
