Thomas died June 20, 2014 in Harrah, Okahoma Co., OK. OBIT: Thomas Leroy Allgood, 90, formerly of Joplin, Mo., went to be with the Lord at 4:48 a.m. Friday, June 20, 2014, at his home in Harrah, Okla.

Mr. Allgood was born in Joplin, on March 13, 1924 and was one of 13 children born to Thomas Scott Allgood and Tencil Violet Allgood.

He was married to Delora Joann Severs, March 20, 1944, who preceded him in passing on July 15, 2003, after 59 years of marriage. The couple had two daughters, the eldest daughter, Patricia Griffin, who preceded them in death; and their daughter, Dianna Lord who currently resides in Harrah, Okla.

Mr. Allgood is survived by his only remaining sisters, Colleen Black, of Joplin and Mary Lou Hudson, of Joplin; and his only surviving brother, Jack Allgood, Joplin; four grandchildren, Brenda and Donna Griffin, of Joplin, Stacy Lord-Campbell, of Oklahoma City, Okla. and Michael Todd, of Piedmont, Okla.; five great- grandchildren, Nate Lord, Oklahoma City, Mick Lord, Oklahoma City, Josh Lord, Harrah, Blake Todd, Piedmont and Kyleigh Todd, Piedmont; and the son he always wanted, his son in law.

Mr. Allgood was a shop foreman at Yellow Freight in Baxter Springs, Kan., for 30 years, built several homes in the Greenwood community, just outside of Joplin and upon retiring, designed, built and operated Allgood Meat Processing for several years before selling it to move to Joplin.

Tom will be greatly missed by his family and his little buddy, Mickey.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 24, at the Mason-Woodard Mortuary chapel, Joplin, with John and Dianna Lord officiating. Burial will follow at the Osborne Cemetery. The family will receive friends at 1 p.m. Tuesday prior to the service.

He married Delora Joann (Dee) Severs March 20, 1944 in Columbus, Cherokee Co., KS. Delora was born July 26, 1925 in Hockerville, Ottawa Co., OK. Delora was the daughter of Clarence Severs and Beatrice Hailey. Delora died July 15, 2003 in Joplin, Jasper Co., MO. Delora Joann Allgood, Dee to her friends, went to be with the Lord at 1:10 p.m. Tuesday, July 15, 2003. Mrs. Allgood, 78, was born July 26, 1925 to Clarence and Beatrice Hailey-Severs, of Hockerville, Okla. She is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, Thomas L. Allgood. The couple married March 20, 1944 and had two daughters. The eldest daughter, Patricia Joann Griffin, preceded her mother in passing in 1998. The youngest, Dianna Lord, resides in Oklahoma City, Okla. Mrs. Allgood is survived by her only remaining sister, Roberta Watts, of Joplin; her four grandchildren, Brenda Griffin and Donna Griffin, of Joplin, Stacy Lord, of Galena, Kan., and Michael Todd, of Oklahoma City; and four great-grandchildren. Mrs. Allgood was a faithful partner to her husband in his every endeavor, including "Allgood Meat Processing," which the couple built in 1976 and operated for several years after retiring. Dee will be greatly missed by her immediate family as well as numerous nieces and nephews, extended family and by her "little buddies," Pudgy, Sugar and Tiny. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, July 18, at Mason-Woodard Mortuary. John and Dianna Lord will officiate. Burial will be in Osborne Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Michael Todd, Mike Allgood, Don Troutman, Allen Taylor, Jeff Taylor and Roger Sneed. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the mortuary. The family has requested donations be made to Community Hospice in lieu of flowers. Arrangements are under the direction of Mason-Woodard Mortuary.
