Gerald died April 14, 2011 in Vinita, OK. OBIT: Gerald W. "Jerry" Allgood of Commerce, OK passed away Thursday April 14, 2011 at Craig General Hospital in Vinita, Oklahoma after an illness. He was 79. Mr. Allgood was born June 2, 1931 in Doughit, Oklahoma to John Oscar Smith and Fetima Faye (Jenkins) Allgood. He had lived in Commerce all his life, graduating from Commerce High School, he served in the U.S. Navy during Korea and was a foreman at Eagle Picher for 43 years. He was a retired Fire Fighter and a member of the V.F.W. and served on the City Council in Commerce.. He was preceded in death by his parents, 5 brothers Tommy, Johnny, Ed, Gene and Marion and 4 sisters Theda, Juanita Pearl, Geneva and Gail. Survivor include: 2 Sons Chris Allgood and wife Felica of Owasso, OK, Shawn Allgood of Miami, OK, Daughter Sondra Wentworth and husband Phillip of Salt Lake City, UT Sister Patsy 5 Grandchildren Jared, Brieana, Bradley, Destery and Laura 1 Geat Grandchild Dylan Funeral Services will be Monday April 18, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at the Paul Thomas Funeral Home in Miami, OK. Pastor Bill Richey will officiate. Commerce Fire Department will serve as pallbearers. Interment will be in G.A.R. Cemetery in Miami, Ok. The family will receive friends from 3 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
