"Carney" Allgood age 81 of Springfield, passed away Thursday, June 9, 2011 at the Alive Hospice at Skyline Medical Center. Clarence was born May 14, 1927 in Greenbrier, Tennessee to the late Robert Henry and Amanda Brinley Allgood. He is also preceded in death by five brothers. He retired after 35 years of service with Southern Heel as a Maintenance Supervisor. He was also a member of the Barren Plains Baptist Church. Clarence is survived by his wife of 63 years, Ruby Allgood of Springfield; sons, Ronnie Allgood of Chapmansboro, Tim (Dawn) Allgood of Springfield; daughter, Kim (Troy) Formosa of Old Hickory; brother, Walter "Pete" Allgood of Barren Plains; grandchildren, Brian Cantrell, Chris Allgood, Darin Allgood, Sharon Allgood, Josh Formosa, Jordan Formosa, Sam Allgood. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM, Saturday, June 11, 2011 at the Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Springfield with Bro. Joe Hinkle and Dr. Tommy Crunk officiating. Burial will follow in the Robertson County Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held Friday from 4:00 - 8:00 PM. at the funeral home.
He married Ruby I. Boisseau August 9, 1947 in Franklin, Simpson Co., KY. Ruby was born October 13, 1928 in Springfield, Robertson Co., TN. Ruby was the daughter of Claude Boisseau and Laura Barrow. Ruby died Sseptember 4, 2019 in Springfield, Robertson Co., TN.
