Lena died March 13, 1999 in Festus, Jefferson Co., MO. OBIT: Lena C. Akers of DeSoto, Mo., passed away Saturday, March 13, 1999, in Festus, Mo., at the age of 81 years, 9 months and 12 days. She was born Jun 1, 1917, at Goodland, Mo., to the late Jerry B. and Mary Elizabeth (Hargus) Fryman.

Lena was united in marriage to Willard Akers November 8, 1936 at Chester, Illinois and one son, Jerry E. Akers was born to this union. Her son preceded her in death as did her parents, and five sisters, Ollie Fryman, Ellie Bell, Stella Douglas, Flory Stevens and Lori Barton; also two brothers, Everett Fryman and Arlie Fryman.

Those who remain to mourn her passing are her loving and devoted husband, Williard Akers of DeSoto; five grandchildren: Scott Akers and wife, Kerri Mills of St. Clair, Mo.; Ladonna Beckmeyer and husband, Boyd of Linn Creek, Mo.; Tammy Werner and husband, Stacy of DeSoto; Jerilyn Cibulka and husband, Patrick of Pacific, Mo., and D. J. Akers of Salem Mo., and six great-grandchildren: Cayla, Kyle, Caitlin, and Courtney Beckmeyer, Abigail Werner and Sean Patrick Cibulka; four sisters, Hazel Tinker of Potosi, Truly Hutchings of Berryman, Retha Dobbs of Potosi and Imogene Maness of Potosi; one brother, Sam Fryman of St. Louis; other relatives and friends who will sadly miss her.

Eastern star services were conducted by the order of Eastern Star Browne Chapter #320, Potosi, at 7 P.M. Thursday evening.

Funeral services were conducted at 2 P.M. Friday, March 19, 1999, at Britton Chapel, Potosi, with Rev. Jim Watson officiating. Serving as Pallbearers were: Daniel (D.J.) Akers, Elwin Fryman, Jerry Fryman, Pug Fryman, Bob Kovis, Albert Downs and Joe Keeler.

Interment was in Sunset Hill Cemetery, Potosi, Mo., under the direction of the Britton Funeral Home of Potosi.

She married Willard H. Akers November 8, 1936 in Chester, IL. Willard was born April 4, 1915. Willard died March 21, 2002 in Eureka, Saint Louis Co., MO. OBIT: Willard H. Akers, 86, of De Soto, passed away March 21, 2002 in Des Peres Hospital.

Survivors are brothers, Ansil Akers, Gravois Mills, Lowell Akers and John Akers, both of Sullivan; sister, Marie Fears, Normal, Ill.; sisters-in-law, Ima Gene Maness and Retha Dobbs, both of Potosi. Grandchildren, Scott Akers, St. Clair; Tammy Werner, De Soto; Ladonna Beckmeyer, Linn Creek; Jerilyn Cibulka, Pacific and D.J. Akers, Salem and seven great grandchildren.

Visitation 4:30 p.m. Monday at Britton Funeral Home in Potosi [Washington County, Mo.]. Funeral services 2 p.m. Tuesday at Britton Chapel. Burial in Sunset Hill Cemetery.

Lena C. Fryman and Willard H. Akers had the following child:
