William died December 16, 2006 in Brookhaven, Lincoln Co., MS. OBIT: Services for William P. Sandifer Sr., of Brookhaven, were 11 a.m. today, Dec. 18, at Brookhaven Funeral Home Chapel with burial in New Hope United Methodist Church Cemetery in Brookhaven. Mr. Sandifer, 80, died Dec. 16, 2006, at King's Daughters Medical Center. He was born in Willitz, La., on Dec. 9, 1926, to Ewing B. Sandifer Sr. and Pearl Bryant Sandifer. He was retired from Mississippi Power and Light Co. after 38 years of service. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He was a member of Jackson Street United Methodist Church. He was a member of the Brookhaven Masonic Lodge and the Shriners. Preceding him in death were his parents; two brothers, Bob Sandifer and John Sandifer; a sister, Ruby Nell Sandifer Berry; and his first wife, Juanita Norton Sandifer. Survivors are his wife, Betty Moak Sandifer, of Brookhaven; his son, William P. Sandifer Jr. and wife June, of Brookhaven; his daughter, Janette Sandifer, of Shreveport, La.; his grandchildren, Matt Sandifer and wife Christy, and Ben Sandifer, all of Brookhaven; his brothers, Charles "Buddy" Sandifer and wife Belva, of Brookhaven, Maxie S. Sandifer and wife Claria, of Flynt, Texas, Gary Sandifer and wife Grace, of Wesson; his sister, Judy Sandifer, of Bay City, Texas; his brother-in-law, Jakie Moak and wife Frances, of Jackson; his sisters-in-law, Ovia "Dodole" Sandifer and Shirley Sandifer, both of Brookhaven; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. He is also survived by a special Navy friend with whom he served his entire military time, Albert Tucker, of Weaubleau, Mo.

He married twice. He married Hazel Juanita Norton March 9, 1951 in Lincoln Co., MS. Hazel was born September 3, 1927 in Brookhaven, Lincoln Co., MS. Hazel was the daughter of Carl Lamar Norton and Emma Ruby Griffin. Hazel died April 4, 1976 in Brookhaven, Lincoln Co., MS. Hazel was buried in New Hope Methodist Church Cemetery, Lincoln Co., MS

William Paul Sandifer and Hazel Juanita Norton had the following children:
