3338. Alvin Thomas⁷ Allgood (Alvin Lucas⁶, John Henry⁵, John Young⁴, John Young³, William² Algood, Edward¹ Allgood) was born November 30, 1909. Alvin died April 18, 1989 in Clarke Co., GA.

He married Edith Louise Norman. Edith was born May 28, 1912. Edith died May 9, 2002 in High Shoals, Oconee Co., GA. OBIT: Mrs. E. Louise Norman Allgood, 89, a native of Wilkes County, GA, passed away May 9, 2002.

She was the daughter of the late Mr. Hollis C. and Alice Echols Norman. Mrs. Allgood was a retired registered nurse, homemaker, and a member of Prince Avenue Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by a daughter, the late Claire Nunn of Athens, GA.

Mrs. Allgood is survived by a son: Norman Allgood of Athens, GA; four grandchildren: Kim Brannon of Athens, GA, Michael Nunn of Athens, GA, Alvin T. Allgood II of Winterhaven, FL, and Terresa Westmoreland of Grand Bury, TX; seven great grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held in Bridges Funeral Home Chapel Saturday, May 11, 2002 at 11:00 A.M. with the Rev. Bill Ricketts officiating. The family will receive friends from 9:00 A.M. until the time of the service. Serving as Pall-bearers will be: Dwain Chambers, Dwight Neal, Bob Brugh, Mike Geyer, David Bridges, Marvin Adams, and Paul Bridges. Interment will be in Oconee Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to the Prince Avenue Baptist Church Building Fund, 595 Prince Avenue Athens, GA 30601. Bridges Funeral Home has Charge of Arrangements.
