3341. Henry Bradford7 Allgood (Alvin Lucas6, John Henry5, John Young4, John Young3, William2 Algood, Edward1 Allgood) was born July 26, 1921. Henry died January 23, 2011. OBIT: - H. Bradford Allgood, 89, passed away on January 23, 2011. He was the last surviving child of the late Neva Palmer Allgood and Alvin Lucas Allgood. His siblings were Frank Allgood, Robert Allgood, Alvin Allgood, Carl "Bo" Allgood, and Sarah Allgood. Bradford was a fourth generation and life long resident of Athens. He graduated from Athens High School in 1939. From 1941 throughout World War II he served in the US Army as a military police staff sergeant serving primarily in Egypt, Israel, and Central Africa. Upon his discharge from the army, he began a 45 year career as a machinist working for Keller Machine Company and Smith Products, Inc. When he was a child and a young man he could be found in his father's stables and barns in downtown Athens. He loved caring for and riding horses all over a much slower paced Athens. Also, as a youngster and through out his life he loved sports, especially football and baseball. As a young man he coached several local baseball teams. Many of his favorite stories from his military days involved games of fast pitch softball in Africa. Some of his fondest memories were from his days coaching Little League and Senior Little League from 1966 to 1970. Bradford grew up attending Prince Avenue Baptist church. After marrying Pauline Crowe in 1951, and for the remainder of his life, he attended First Christian Church of Athens. There he served as deacon and trustee; but he most enjoyed his service on the Property Committee especially when that involved church maintenance or "fixing something". Bradford's greatest love of all was that of his family. In addition to his wife of 59 years he is survived by his son, Carlas, and his wife Jeana of Watkinsville, grandson, Matthew, and granddaughter, Christy Allgood both of Athens. He was predeceased by his nephew Bobby Allgood and nieces Jean Merck and Claire Nunn. He is survived by a niece, Hazel Yancy and her husband, John, of Herando, Florida, and Norman Allgood and his wife, Faye, of Athens, several great and great-great nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be: Alan Berry, Joel Bufford, Steve Ginn, Terry Moore, Allan Nuss & Tom Phillippo. Hoorary Pallbearers will be: the BYKOTA Sunday School Class and the Property Committee of the First Christian Church. Visitation will be at Lord and Stevens West, Tuesday, January 25th, from 5pm until 7pm. Funeral services will be at First Christian Church, Athens on Wednesday, January 26th at 11am. Anyone wishing to make a donation in Bradford's memory may do so to the Operating Fund of the First Christian Church of Athens. Lord & Stephens WEST is in charge of arrangements.

He married twice. He married Eugenia Hinton. He married Pauline Rebecca Crowe 1951. Pauline was born February 14, 1921 in Stephens, GA. Pauline was the daughter of Edwin Crwoe and Vessie Seagraves. Pauline died October 19, 2020.
