She was born in Granville County, the daughter of the late Annie Bell Allgood Carter and Alfred Earl ?Buck? Carter. Mrs. Pearce is survived by her husband of 31 years, Albert Roy ?Bootsy? Pearce Jr.; a son, Scott Pearce and his wife, Betty, of Wake Forest; a daughter, Debbie Batts of Virginia; a brother, Claude Carter and his wife, Faye, of Wake Forest; three grandchildren, Chris, Jennifer and Amanda; five great-grandchildren, Victoria, Hunter, Christopher, Jon Jon and Mckenzie; and half-brothers and half-sisters. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sister, Edna Louise Falls. Graveside funeral services were held Sept. 1 at Pine Forest Memorial Gardens, with the Rev. Bill Spence officiating.

She married twice. She married Albert Roy (Bootsy) Pearce JR. Albert was born October 7, 1932 in Alamance Co., NC. Albert was the son of Albert Roy Pearce and Edna Irene (__). Albert died June 4, 2016 in Burlington, Alamance Co., NC. She married David Ronald Price January 6, 1964. David was born March 25, 1949 in Charlotte Co., VA.

Shirley Irene Carter and David Ronald Price had the following children:
