Edna died March 16, 2008 in Cleveland Co., NC. OBIT: Mrs. Edna Carter Falls, 68, of 120 Garrett Drive, died Sunday, March 16, 2008, at Cleveland Regional Medical Center. A native of Virginia, she was a daughter of the late Buck Carter and Annie Belle Allgood Carter. She retired from Kemet and worked for Helping Hands for many years. She was also a member of Landmark Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, her husband, Ray Leonard Falls preceded her in death. She is survived by two sons, Zeb Vance Falls and wife, Lisa, and James Ray "Peanut" Falls and wife, Rhonda, all of Shelby; a daughter, Carolyn Bridges and husband, Gene Jr., of Shelby; a sister, Shirley Pierce and husband, Albert, of Raleigh; a brother, Claude Carter and wife, Faye, of Wake Forest; eight grandchildren, Kimberly Bridges and friend, John Stelma, Kyle Bridges and friend, Mandi Blanton, all of Shelby, Kristin Bridges Summer and husband, Shane, of Cherryville, Aaron Falls of Arkansas, Alyse Falls of Lawndale, Michael Owens, Justin Falls and wife, Courtney, and Jada Falls, all of Shelby; three great-grandchildren, Bailey Kyle Bridges, Rylee Abigail Summer, and Mattie Grace Bridges; and many other special family, friends, and neighbors.

Visitation: The family will receive friends tonight at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home from 6 to 7:30 and at other times at the home of her daughter, Carolyn Bridges, 1214 Charles Road, Shelby. Funeral: Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Landmark Baptist Church; body will be placed in the church 30 minutes before the service

She married Ray Leonard Falls. Ray was born July 11, 1936. Ray died January 23, 2004 in Shelby, Cleveland Co., NC. OBIT: Mr. Ray Leonard Falls, 67, of 120 Garrett Drive, died Friday, Jan. 23, 2004, at home.

He was born July 11, 1936, in Cleveland County. He was a sewing machine mechanic and a member of Landmark Baptist Church. Softball was the love of his life, and he loved to coach softball.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Zeb Vance Falls and Nannie Bridges Falls.

He is survived by his wife, Edna Carter Falls of the home; a daughter and son-in-law, Carolyn and Gene Bridges of Shelby; two sons and daughters-in-law, Zeb Vance and Lisa Falls of Shelby and James Ray Peanut and Rhonda Falls of Shelby; a brother and sister-in-law, Howard and Linda Falls of Chase City, Va.; eight grandchildren, Kimberly Bridges, Kyle Bridges, Kristin Bridges, Aaron Falls, Alyse Falls, Michael Falls, Justin Falls and Jada Falls; and a great-grandson, Bailey Kyle Bridges.

The funeral will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Landmark Baptist Church, with the Rev. Allen Davis officiating.

The body will be placed in the church 30 minutes before the service. Burial will be in Sunset Cemetery.

Edna Louise Carter and Ray Leonard Falls had the following children:
