OBIT: Edna Ruth Wynn English, 88, formerly of Seale, AL, passed away Wednesday, October 15, 2008 at Jack Hughston Hospital, Phenix City, AL. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. EST, Friday, October 17, 2008 at Vance Memorial Chapel, 3738 Hwy 431 N, Phenix City, AL with interment following at Lakeview Memory Gardens. Rev. Sammy Turner will officiate the service. The family will receive friends this evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Mrs. English was born February 9, 1920 in Phenix City, AL, daughter of the late John Thomas Wynn and Stella Newsome Wynn. She was a member of Seale Baptist Church and a past member of Russell County Homemakers Club. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband S.T. English of 64 years and six siblings. She is survived by two daughters, Marsha English Copeland and husband Clyde of Smiths, AL, Sylvia R. English Culpepper and husband Joe of Dothan, AL; two sons, Steven T. English of Seale, AL, Keith English and wife Joanne of Phenix City, AL; a sister, Abby "Tootsie" Wynn Morris of Phenix City, AL; a brother, Paul Wynn and wife Annette of Phenix City, AL; seven grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
She married Seymour Trowbridge English August 9, 1941 in Russell Co., AL. Seymour was born November 6, 1918 in Pike Co., GA. Seymour was the son of Thomas Jefferson English and Elizabeth McCoy. Seymour died July 28, 2005 in Phenix City, Russell Co., AL.
