Sarah was born November 20, 1873 in Phenix City, Russell Co., AL. Sarah was the daughter of Benjamin Parsons and Chole Ledbetter. Sarah died April 15, 1946 in Phenix City, Russell Co., AL. Sarah is buried in the Newsome Cemetery, Phenix City, AL

OBIT: Elizabeth Newsome Hand, 85, of 3900 Lakewood Drive, Phenix City, died Thursday, March 3 at Columbus Hospice House. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday at the Chapel of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary with burial in Lakeview Memory Gardens with the Rev. Junior Thompson and Toby Newsome officiating. Mrs. Hand was born April 16, 1919 in Phenix City. She married Buster Jackson Hand December 24, 1935.

Buster was born May 20, 1912 Walton Co., GA. Buster died January 2, 1976 in Phenix City, Russell Co., AL. Buster is buried at Lakeview Memory Gardens Cemetery. The family indicates that "Aunt Beth" was quite a character. She introduced several neices and nephews to "snuff" when they were very young. She said - so they wouldn't take up the habit later in life. She also rolled cigarettes using rabbit tobacco, as well as other ingredients. Elizabeth and Buster had no children.
