Doris died August 3, 2000 in Phenix City, Russell Co., AL. OBIT: Doris Allene Wynn Elkins Lewis, 79 years of age passed away Saturday, August 3, 2002 at Saint Frances Hospital, Columbus, Georgia.
Mrs. Lewis was born July 6, 1923, in Russell County, Alabama. She was the daughter of the late John Thomas Wynn Sr. and Stella Newsome Wynn.
Mrs. Lewis is survived by her husband Jim Griggs Lewis and a daughter Patricia Allene Lewis Roberts of Phenix City, Alabama, two sons Thomas Elva Elkins of Opelika, Alabama and Marvin Berkley Elkins of Columbus, Georgia; four sisters, Edna Ruth Wynn English of Seale, Alabama, Sadie Frances Wynn Pearrow,Lillian Pauline Wynn Graf, and Abby Mae Wynn Morris all of Phenix City, Alabama; two brothers, Fred Larmar Wynn Sr. and Paul Milford Wynn both of Phenix City, Alabama; nine grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
Graveside services were held at 4:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 6, 2002 at Lakeview Memory Gardens in Phenix City, Alabama, with Rev. Tommy Fountain officiating.
She married twice. She married Jim Griggs Lewis JR. Jim was born September 15, 1936. Jim was the son of Jim Griggs Lewis and Ethel L. Lewis. Jim died July 13, 2006 in Phenix City, Russell Co., AL. She married Johnny Lee Elkins August 29, 1941 in Russell Co., AL. Johnny was born June 27, 1921. Johnny died February 1976.
Doris Allene Wynn and Johnny Lee Elkins had the following children:
