Mable died Septembe 4, 2007 in Linton, Greene Co., IN. OBIT: Mabel Gene Tennant, 86, of Linton, died at 3:48 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2007 at Greene County General Hospital in Linton. Born Oct. 2, 1920 in Coal City, Ind., she was the daughter of Charles W. and Minnetta Pearl (Blackketter) Van Horn. On Nov. 8, 1947, she married Malcolm L. Tennant, who preceded her in death on Feb. 15, 1993. Mrs. Tennant was a clerk/typist at NSWC Crane and a member of the Sandborn Christian Church. She was also a member of the Fort Benjamin Harrison Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, the Reep Family Association and the Qui Va La Club. She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Libby and James Lynch; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Charles W. Tennant, Jan L. and Angie Tennant, and Larry G. and Kerri Tennant, all of Linton; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Joy Anne Van Horn of Linton. Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, John B. Van Horn, and Charles W. Van Horn Jr.; one sister, Marie A. Van Horn; and a grandchild, Brock Adam Tennant. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 7, 2007 at the Anderson-Poindexter Memory Chapel in Linton with Bryan Sanders officiating. Burial will be in the Fairview Cemetery in Linton. Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. on Thursday and from 9 a.m. until the hour of services on Friday at the funeral home.
She married Malcolm Lawrence Tennant November 8,1947. Malcolm was born February 14, 1915 in MI. Malcolm died February 15, 1993 in Linton, Greene Co., IN.
Mable Gene Van Horn and Malcolm Lawrence Tennant had the following children:
