Florence died August 20, 2009 in Sawyer, Carlton Co., MN. OBIT: Florence Mae Greensky, 82, of Sawyer, Minn., passed away peacefully Thursday, Aug. 20, 2009, in her home surrounded by her family. She was born Dec. 28, 1926, in Cloquet, Minn., to Mike and Susan (Blacketter) Shabiash. Florence loved cooking and especially caring for her family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Isaac; her parents; son Mike Geeposh; daughter Sharon Jug; grandson, Christopher Gazoo; two brothers and a sister.
Florence is survived by her children, Sam (Judy), Charles Chuck (Virginia), Sweedy (Carl) Carlson, and Betty Habe (Buck) Porter; 21 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren; brother Donald (Sharon) Shabiash; sister Bonita Barney; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will begin at 5 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 23, in the Sawyer Center, Sawyer, and continue through the evening until the 10 a.m. Traditional Service on Monday, Aug. 24. Interment will be in Sawyer Cemetery.
She married Isaac Thomas Greensky. Isaac was born October 9, 1916 in Bay Shore, Charlevoix Co., MI. Isaac died July 3, 2001 in Sawyer, Carlton Co., MN.
Florence Mae Shabiash and Isaac Thomas Greensky had the following children:
