Jean died June 12, 2012 in Jackson, Hinds Co, MS. OBIT: Funeral services for Jean S. Smith, of Wesson, are 11 a.m. on Thursday, June 14, at New Salem Church of Christ, with burial in the church cemetery. Riverwood Family Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.
Visitation is Wednesday from 5 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mrs. Smith, 85, died June 12, 2012, at St. Dominic-Jackson Memorial Hospital. She was born on Jan. 8, 1927, to Robert Fulton and Dell Storm Smith.
She was a homemaker and member of New Salem Church of Christ.
Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Nelson P. Smith; grandson, Collin Nelson Smith; four brothers; and four sisters.
Survivors are her son, Rickey Nelson Smith and wife, Vanessa, of Wesson; daughters, Brenda Burgess and husband, Brian, of Natchez, and Nelda Westbrook, of Wesson; sisters-in-law, Wessie Smith, of Brookhaven and Wisie Smith, of Wesson; five grandchildren, Michelle and Hayden Kaiser, of Natchez, Blaine Burgess, of Natchez, Jacob and Wanda Westbrook, of Wesson, Millicent and Blake Porter, of Wesson, and Alex Smith, of Wesson; eight great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She married Nelson Print Smith. Nelson was born August 8, 1924. Nelson was the son of Ulyess Prentiss (Print) Smith and Beulah Irene Kimble. Nelson died January 12, 2003 in Jackson, Hinds Co, MS. OBIT: Mr. Smith, 78, died Jan. 12, 2003, at St. Dominic's Hospital in Jackson.
He was a retired mechanic for Southern Wholesale. He was a member of New Salem Church of Christ. He served in the military during World War II.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Print Smith and Beulah Kimble Smith; a brother, Denver E. Smith; his sister, Mildred Pierce; and one grandson, Collin Smith.
Survivors are his wife, Jean Smith Smith of Wesson; his son and daughter-in-law, Rickey N. and Venessa Smith of Wesson; his daughters and son-in-law, Nelda Westbrook of Wesson, and Brenda and Brian Burgess of Natchez; his brother, Virgil E. Smith of Wesson; his grandchildren, Alex Smith, Millie Smith, Jacob Westbrook, Blaine Burgess and Michelle Kaizer; and two great-grandchildren.
Jean Smith and Nelson Print Smith had the following children:
