Jewel died June 5, 2006 in Brookhaven, Lincoln Co., MS. OBIT: Services for Jewell Maxine Foster, of Brookhaven, were 11 a.m. today, June 7, at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Brookhaven with burial in the church cemetery. Brookhaven Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Foster, 76, died June 5, 2006, at King's Daughters Medical Center. She was born in Lincoln County on Jan. 27, 1930, to John Butler Smith and Mattie O. Walker Smith. She was a seamstress with Stahl Urban Company. She was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church. Preceding her in death were her parents. Survivors are her husband, Smith Foster, of Brookhaven; her sons, Wayne Foster and wife Suanne, Roger Foster and wife Liz, and Jason Foster, all of Brookhaven; her sisters, Johnnie Carlisle, of New Orleans, La., and Wessie Newell, of Brookhaven; and her six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

She married Smith Quinnon Foster November 9, 1946. Smith was born April 16, 1924 in Lawrence Co., MS. Smith was the son of Quinn O'Neal Foster and Viola Smith. Smith died January 10, 2008 in Brookhaven, Lincoln Co., MS. OBIT: Services for Smith Quinnon Foster, of Brookhaven, will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 12, at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Lincoln County with burial in the church cemetery. Brookhaven Funeral Home on Natchez Drive is in charge of arrangements. Visitation is Friday from 5 until 9 p.m. at the funeral home, and on Saturday at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Mr. Foster, 83, died Jan. 10, 2008, at King's Daughters Medical Center. He was born in Lawrence County on April 16, 1924, to Quinnie Foster and Viola Smith Foster. He was retired from his job in shipping with Delphi Packard. He was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon. He was a World War II veteran of the United States Army and earned a Purple Heart for his service. Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife, Jewell Foster; and his sister, Marguerite Warren. Survivors are his sons, Wayne Mitchell Foster, Roger Dale Foster and Jason O'Neal Foster, all of Brookhaven; his brothers, Houston Foster and Leonard Foster, both of Brookhaven; his six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Jewel Maxine Smith and Smith Quinnon Foster had the following children:
