Mabel died January 18,1998 in Lawrenceville, Lawrence Co., IL. OBIT: Mabel Viola Chandler, 58, passed away in the Lawrence County Memorial Hospital in Lawrenceville, Illinois. She was the daughter of Samuel C. and Carrie Bell (Eagan) Phillips. She married Dean Chandler on August 1, 1959 and he survived her.
In addition to her husband, she was survived by three sons, Glenn Smith Jr., Vernon D. Smith, Ernie C. Smith; a daughter, Kathy Smith; a brother, Dale Phillips; a sister, Venice Bryan; and four grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter and two grandchildren.
Funeral services for Mabel Viola Chandler were held on January 16, 1990 in the Emmons-Macey Funeral Home in Lawrenceville followed by interment in the Lawrenceville City Cemetery.
She married twice. She married Glen Smith. She married Dean Wilson Chandler August 1,1959. Dean was born September 27, 1929 in Alma, Marion Co., IL. Dean was the son of Guy Granville Chandler and Mary D. White. Dean died January 18,1998 in Lawrenceville, Laawrence Co., IL. OBIT: Dean Chandler, 68, passed away in the Lawrence County Memorial Hospital in Lawrenceville, Illinois. He was the son of Guy and Mary (Chandle) Chandler. He married Mabel Viola Phillips on August 1, 1959 and she preceded him in death on January 13, 1990. He married second Lois Dicus on June 25, 1990 and she survived him.
In addition to his wife, he was survived by four step-sons, Ernie, Vernon, Glenn Smith and William Dicus; two step-daughters, Tonya Person and Kathy Smith; two brothers, Robert and Marvin Chandler; three sisters, Nellie Williams, Doretha Brownie and Ruby Joslyn; and five step-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Dean Chandler were held on January 21, 1998 in the Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Lawrenceville followed by interment in the Lawrenceville City Cemetery.
Mabel Viola Phillips and Glen Smith had the following children:
