OBIT: Phillip Edward Phillips, age 61, of Saint Peter, IL, passed away at 9:35 am, Sunday, December 23, 2012, at the St. Louis University Hospital in St. Louis, MO.
Phil was born July 12, 1951 in Salem, Illinois, the son of Ray and Lola Belle (Shelton) Phillips. He was united in marriage with Shelly Garrett on September 10, 1977 at the Kinmundy Christian Church.
Phil was a sales representative for the Sloan Implement in Vandalia and was a member and elder of the Kinmundy Christian Church.
He is survived by his wife, Shelly Phillips of St. Peter; sons, Dustin Phillips and partner Chuck Slaughter of Louisville, Kentucky, and Kip Phillips and wife Stella of San Jose, California; daughters, Katie Smith of St. Peter, and Andi Phillips and partner Lily Worby of Urbana; sisters, Donna Steevens and husband John of Martinsville, Judy Milner and husband Bill of Salem, Linda Miselbrook and husband Gary of Kinmundy, and Kathy Perkins and husband Ken of Waterloo, Illinois; brothers, Don Phillips and wife Ruth Ann of West Terre Haute, Indiana, and Garry Phillips and wife Kathy of Mount Vernon; Grand Children, Josie Smith and Jacob Smith of Saint Peter, and Sylvia Phillips of San Jose, California.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Ray and Lola Phillips.
Arrangements are being handled by Neal Funeral Home in Kinmundy, The family will receive friends at the Kinmundy Christian Church from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Thursday, December 27, 2012. Funeral service will be at Kinmundy Christian Church at 11:00 AM, Friday, December 28, 2012,
Josh Conley officiating. Interment will be at Sandy Branch Cemetery, Kinmundy, IL.
He married Shelly Garrett September 10,1977 in Kinmundy, Marion Co., IL.
