Edith died Januay 8, 2003 in Brookhaven, Lincoln Co., MS. OBIT: Services for Edith Lee Allgood Smith of Brookhaven are 11 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 11, at Harrigill Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Friendship Cemetery. Visitation is today from 4-9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Smith, 87, died Jan. 8, 2003, at King's Daughters Medical Center. She was born in Lincoln County on March 1, 1915, to Leon Allgood and Mary Case Allgood.

She was a homemaker. She was a member of Friendship Baptist Church.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, John Wesley Smith; and two brothers and five sisters.

Survivors are her sons, John Jerry Smith and Sammy Lee Smith, both of Brookhaven; her grandchildren, Felicia Parker, Darleen Runnels, Sonya Anders and Shane L. Smith; and six great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Friendship Baptist Church.

She married John Wesley Smith. John was born March 13, 1912. John was the son of Merrell Vernon Smith and Cora Jane Smith. John died October 19, 1988.

Edith Lee Allgood and John Wesley Smith had the following children:
