Edna died December 31, 1966 in Salisbury, Rowan Co., NC. OBIT: Mrs. Edna Allgood Thompson, 66, route 5, Statesville, died at Blaine Nursing Home in Salisbury at 2 p.m. Saturday, following an illness of three years. She was a native of Iredell County, born September 19, 1900, a daughter of the late I. L. and Mary Ellen Henninger Allgood. She was married twice, first to Esco Carson and then to P. R. Thompson. Survivors include two sons, Rev. Flake A. Carson, route 4, Statesville, and Davis Lee Carson of Texas; four daughters, Mrs. Annie Murdock of Greensboro, Mrs. Robert Little, Mrs. Bill Moore and Mrs. Juanita Wilhelm, all of Statesville; three brothers, Clifton Allgood, Lazzie Allgood, and Silas Allgood, all of Statesville; three sisters, Mrs. Fate Ladd, Mrs. Iona Drum, both of Statesville, and Mrs. Maggie Johnson of Asheville; one stepson, Claude Thompson of Statesville; one stepdaughter, Mrs. Ruth Mills, route 1, Statesville, and 23 grandchildren. Mrs. Thompson was a member of Fern Hill Baptist Church. The funeral was to be held at 2 p.m. today at Johnson Funeral Home chapel, conducted by Rev. Paul Simpson, Rev. Paul Conrad, Rev. Bruce Mathis and Rev. Dewey Almond. Burial was to follow in Oakwood Cemetery.
She married twice. She married P. R. Thompson. She married Esco Carson.
