Annie died October 26, 2012 in Jena, LaSalle Parish, LA. OBIT: Annie Mae (Smith) Collins, 94 of Jena, Louisiana was received into Heaven on Sunday, October 28, 2012.
She was born to the union of John Wesley Smith and Lillie Maude (Smith) Smith on Saturday, February 3, 1918 in Jena, Louisiana.
Mrs. Collins is preceded in death by her husband, Allen Baker Collins; her parents; three brothers, Allen Smith, Edgar Smith and Huey Smith; five sisters, Edith (Smith) Clarkson, Bonnell (Smith) White, Mary Katherine (Smith) Breland, Gladys Smith and Ora Smith.
Those left to love, miss and cherish her memory are her two sons, Allen Collins of Baton Rouge, LA and Sam Douglas Collins & wife Marilyn of Rowlett, TX.; two daughters, Grace (Collins) Sullivan of Jena, LA. and Ann (Collins) Bradford & husband Gerald of Shreveport, LA.; two beloved sister in laws, Violet Smith of Jena, and Norah Dee Coleman of Jena; four grandchildren and six great grandchildren; and a host nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Wednesday, October 31, 2012, at Kinner & Stevens Funeral Home of Jena and on Thursday from 8:30 AM until time of service. Services will be at 11:00 AM on Thursday, November 1, 2012 in the Chapel of Kinner & Stevens Funeral Home with the Rev. Tony Wilson and Chaplain Nancy Hendrix officiating. Mrs. Collins will be laid to rest in the Jena Cemetery, Jena, LA.
Serving as pallbearers, Michael Humphries, Brand Bignar, Braylon Bignar, Bo Bignar, John Allen Coleman, Huey Smith Jr. and Jay Riley Breland.
She married Allen Baker Collins June 11, 1936. Allen was born May 19, 1913. Allen died April 29, 1986.
