Mrs. McCoy, 90, died Dec. 12, 2008, at Silver Cross Home. She was born in Lincoln County on April 18, 1918 to Johnson C. Smith and Mary A. McGee Smith.

She retired from Stahl-Urban Company. She was a member of Hillcrest Church of Christ.

Preceding her in death were her parents; a son, Neal McCoy; her sisters, Betty Smith, Hallie Lea, Estelle Hardin; her brothers, Claude Smith, Clyde Smith, Percy Smith, Clark Smith and Thomas Smith.

Survivors are her brothers, Denver Smith and Sam Smith, both of Brookhaven; her two grandchildren, Matthew McCoy and Betsy Ross; her two great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
