Roger died July 15, 2000 in Brookhaven, Lincoln Co., MS. OBIT: Services for Roger Lee Smith of Brookhaven are 2 p.m., Tuesday, July 18, at Brookhaven Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Concord Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation is Monday, July 17, beginning at 3 p.m. at Brookhaven Funeral Home. Mr. Smith, 63, died July 15, 2000, of heart failure at University Medical Center. He was born in Franklin County on Dec. 2, 1936, to Leroy Smith and Edith Smith Smith.
He was a retired forester and logger. He was a member of the Baptist faith. Preceding him in death was his father. Survivors are his wife, Juanita Smith of Brookhaven; his sons, Roger Dale Smith and Andy Smith, both of Brookhaven; his daughter, Virginia Anne Brown of Brookhaven; his mother, Edith Smith of Brookhaven; his brother, Bobby Glyn Smith of Brookhaven; his sisters, Peggy Foster of Brookhaven; and two grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
