KY May 3, 1926. Amos died March 25, 2011 in Ezel, Morgan Co., KY. OBIT: Amos Matthew Smith,age 84 years,10 months & 22 days of Ezel,Ky departed this life Friday, March 25,2011 at his home after an extended illness.

He was born May 3,1926 at Moon,Ky,son of the late Gusta T. & Laura M.Keeton Smith.

He was preceded in death by his wife,Rosie Mae Harlow Smith, four brothers, Brack, Woodrow, Sewell & Armstrong and two sisters Magdalene & Bonnie and one infant sister, a great-grandson,Thomas Blake Cooley and two son-in-laws, Ray Ferguson & Carlton Lear.

Amos was a retired farmer & bus driver,a wonderful father & friend,loving grandfather,outdoorsman, gardener,avid hunter and fisherman. He was a member of the Pine Grove Community Church, Ezel,Ky and a W.W.II Veteran.

Surviving are four daughters, Barbara J.Seab & husband, Howard of Roxie,MS, Teresa S.Ferguson of West Liberty,Ky, Laura M.Angell & husband Darr of Hobbs,NM, Nadine Lear of Lexington,Ky.

Four sons, Robert C.Smith & wife Brenda of Wellington,Ky, Ralph W.Smith & wife Linda of Ezel,Ky, Paul E.Smith & wife Susan of Berea,Ky, Rufus M.Smith of Lexington,Ky. Twenty-four grandchildren & Fourty great-grandchildren. Sister-in-law, Norma Skaggs Smith of Elkfork,Ky, Brother-in-law, Lawrence Harlow,Campton,Ky

Funeral service will be 3;PM Monday at the Pine Grove Community Church,Ezel,Ky with Bro.Garrie Stamper, Bro.Aaron Brooks and Bro.Paul A.Keeton officiating.

Burial in the Ezel Cemetery, Ezel,Ky. Visitation 6;PM Sunday at Herald & Stewart & Halsey Funeral Home,West Liberty,Ky. Visitation 12;Noon,Monday at the Pine Grove Community Church,Ezel,Ky.

Military graveside rites will be conducted by the Morgan Co.D.A.V.Chapter # 132.

He married Rosa Mae Harlow March 14,1949. Rosa was born Jujne 4, 1932 in Flat Gap, Johnson Co., KY. Rosa died August 31, 2005 in Morgan Co., KY.
